Waikiki Beach Parasail · Requirements
Weight and age limits for parasailing
The numbers that decide who flies and how: the solo minimum, the combined range for tandem and triple flights, and the age floor.
Why the limits exist
A parasail flies on wind. Too little weight under the canopy and it rides high and unpredictably; too much and it can’t lift cleanly off the deck. The limits keep the canopy loaded inside the range it’s built to fly in — they’re flight rules, not policy.
Flying solo
Solo flyers should weigh at least 130 lb. Under that, you fly tandem with a partner, a friend or a crew-approved pairing so the combined weight sits inside the flight range.
Flying together
Tandem flights take two flyers and triples take three, with a combined weight between 125 and 560 lb. You don’t need to solve the math yourself — tell the crew who’s flying and they’ll work out the best configuration for your group on the day.
Kids
Ages 5 and up are welcome. The crew fits every harness on the deck and stays with young flyers through takeoff and landing. Takeoff and landing are both dry, off the boat deck — no swimming involved. There is more on how a family flight is put together in the parasailing with kids guide.
Weather and sea conditions can change what works on the day. The final call is always the captain’s.
