Waikiki Beach Parasail · First flight

Your first parasail flight, start to finish

What actually happens between booking online and stepping back onto the dock — with the answers first-time flyers ask for most.

The short version

  • Book online — instant confirmation, free cancellation, mobile voucher
  • Check in 30 minutes early at Kewalo Basin Harbor
  • Board straight off the dock — no wading, no swimming
  • Harness fitted on deck, briefing on the way out
  • Fly up to 1,200 feet over Waikiki
  • Land back on the deck, completely dry

The flight

You lift off the boat deck on up to 1,200 feet of line — you pick the length when you book, with Diamond Head on one side, the Honolulu skyline on the other, and the Koʻolau range beyond it. Plan for up to an hour on the boat, depending on how many passengers are flying; solo, tandem and triple flights are available on every line length.

Will you get wet?

Not unless you ask. Takeoff and landing both happen on the boat deck. If you want the optional dip in the Pacific mid-flight, tell the crew and they’ll drop you in — otherwise your feet never touch water. That is also why you don’t need to be able to swim to fly.

Is it safe?

It is the operation’s first priority: USCG-certified captains, an experienced crew, documented safety protocols, equipment on a regular inspection schedule, and the ASTM standards for parasailing. The crew reads the wind all day, and if conditions aren’t right for a safe flight, you reschedule at no charge or get a full refund. The final call is always the captain’s.

What to bring

  • Sunscreen, and sunglasses with a strap if you want them aloft
  • A swimsuit and towel if you’re taking the mid-flight dip
  • Whatever’s comfortable if you’re staying dry — you take off and land on deck
  • A phone leash or zipped pocket for anything that flies with you

Who can fly

Ages 5 and up. Solo flyers should be at least 130 lb; tandem and triple flights run 125–560 lb combined. The crew configures groups on the day — the full numbers are in the weight and age limits guide.
